𝐍𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐢 𝐁𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟑

Isohi Setsuko was born in 1964 in Tochigi, renowned for its bamboo artists, including the famous Iizuka Rōkansai. This prefecture, located in the center of the island of Honshū, also gave birth to three "Living National Treasures", Iizuka Shōkansai, Katsushiro Soho and Fujinuma Noboru. Initially a disciple of Yagisawa Tadashi, Isohi Setsuko completed his apprenticeship with master Hayakawa Shōkosai IV.

In 2005, she became the third female bamboo artist to become a full member of the Japan Craft Art Association. In recent years, Isohi Setsuko has multiplied awards and exhibitions in Japan and the United States.
